The CMCC invites applications for a 2-year Research Associate position in climate modelling and predictions.<\/p>\n

The location is CMCC in Bologna, BO, Italy.<\/p>\n

The successful candidate will work in the Seasonal Forecast team at CMCC and get familiar with the Seasonal Prediction System in use at CMCC (CMCC-SPS3). In particular, she\/he will join the operational group, contributing to maintenance and development of the technological system interface, improving the programming and scripting interface to manage the automated production of seasonal forecasts and related technical quality control procedures. She\/He will also contribute to the development of tools and metrics aimed at analysing the scientific information of the produced seasonal forecasts, and to demonstrate the added value of the forecasts for the private and public sectors.<\/p>\n

The desired qualifications are:
\n\uf0a7 degree in Physics, Engineer, Environmental Sciences or equivalent subjects;
\n\uf0a7 excellent proficiency in Unix\/Linux ambient;
\n\uf0a7 experience as programmer (Fortran\/python\/R)
\n\uf0a7 adequate command of the English language<\/p>\n

Moreover, experience with the use of meteo-climate numerical models will be highly valued.<\/p>\n

Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68\/99) will constitute a preferential condition.<\/p>\n

\nThe initial appointment is for 24 months at an annual salary ranging from 28 to 38k Euros, comprehensive of benefits, depending on qualification and experience.<\/p>\n
